Zippers, zippers, zippers!

I bought a lot of vintage zippers last Friday. I had no idea what to use them for, but the colors were so pretty I just couldn't resist! I went back home and sat down to look around for a while before making any decision about what to do. I took some vintage fabrics and clothes and decided that I was going to deconstruct and reconstruct, so I took the fabrics apart and put them back together to create my own piece.

Then I pulled all the zippers I bought and started matching them up and cutting them into smaller pieces. I embellished the first collar and was quite proud of it. The colors matched so well!

On Saturday I made similar shirt but darker this time. I used a vintage cotton in navy blue, some zippers, vintage lace and another beautiful brooch.

Tomorrow I'm going to learn how to make zipper flowers. I'd like to make a dress from a vintage cotton or spandex and adorn it with zippers. I guess I'm hooked!

I graduated not too long ago with a degree in Graphic Design Technology. Right now I study Industrial Design in another city. I have a relatively quiet existence, and I spend my days (and nights) creating everything that pops in my head. A couple years ago i started designing clothes for myself as I couldn't buy clothes that I wanted (and liked). Everything I do is based on moment-to-moment instincts... I love drawing and one day I thought that maybe I should transfer my art on fabrics... Everyone was impressed and encouraged me to make clothes for others so I signed up on Etsy and opened my store.
